Catching Fire by Janice Cantore

Abby Hart is a detective. She begins investigating the cold case death of a college student. She is paired up with Luke Murphy a private investigator. They are sent to the hometown of the murdered girl. This happens to be near the place where a fire killed Abby's parents many years ago. Luke and Abby both have personal reasons for investigating. The expected sparks begin to fly between the two main characters. As they both investigate the fire that killed Abby's parents and Luke's uncle, Abby because obsessive and Luke is fearful for Abby's life. There are suspenseful plots and unexpected twists. I would recommend the book, but the first two books in the series introduce Luke and Abby as they solve crimes and start a friendship which seems to be evolving slowly into a romance. I was provided this book by Tyndale Publishers and asked to provide an honest review.

What Does God Really Promise? By Carolyn Larsen

This little book was filled with wonderful, fun illustrations. The book was broken into a few sections where questions were answered. The first section was about the church, God, and where you fit in. The second section was eternal life and questions many newer believers have. The third section was about what God promises in the future. This book would be greatly beneficial for a new or newer believer. Having been a believer for almost 3 decades I have been exposed to much of this information. Although there are great refreshers of the promises of God. I did pass this book onto a friend who is a newer believer and has asked many of this questions. I received this as a free book from Tyndale publishers in order to give my honest review.

Hidden in my Heart Scripture Memory Bible NLT

As a child I was taught verses from the Bible through memory verses and songs. This Bible is in an easy translation of the New Living Testament. Throughout the Bible there are stand alone pages with verses for you to memorize. These pages are simple verses any child or adult can memories with ease. This hiding the verses in your heart. Additionally songs come with Bible that coincide with the highlighted memory verses making memorization much easier!

All views expressed are my opinion even though Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.

Gratitude: A Prayer and Journal Coloring Book

This is a prayer and journal coloring book. It is a hard back. The book provides a prayer and as you read over and soak in the prayer, you have time to color in the doodle around the prayer and the area provided to journal. This is a wonderful way to soak in the prayer and God's words as you color.

Step by Step by Candace Calvert

Step by Step by Candace Calvert

This is the second book within the Crisis Team series. The synopsis is 3 years after a tragic accident left her a widow, ER nurse Taylor Cabot is determined to move on, checking off one item after another on her survival list. Her relationship with a handsome plastic surgeon even gives her hope for the last point—“fall in love again.” At least until crisis chaplain Seth Donovan steps back into her life, reawakening unanswered questions about her husband’s death.

While in San Diego to train community volunteers, Seth hopes to learn why Taylor is backing away from the crisis team and from their friendship. But nothing prepares him for the feelings that arise when he sees Taylor again . . . and sees her moving on with another man.

The book is a quick read, especially the first few chapters. You are quickly drawn into the storyline and began trying to figure out what you believe is the plot and then the author goes a different direction. The story is not your usual, predictable plot line. You can empathize with Taylor as she goes through her grieving process and tries to enter into a new relationship. You feel the anger and jealousy experienced by Seth as he watches this relationship unfold. I highly recommend this book.

PrayerPoints by Ken Petersen and Tyndale

This is a small devotional that I like to carry around in my purse. The devotional itself is in a faux leather cover and has a small ribbon to mark pages within the devotional. The book is arranged by topic so the reader can look up a topic and then find devotionals specific to that topic. I really do love this book as I am always busy. So when I have a small amount of time I can grab this out of my purse and do a quick devotional.

Fire and Ice by Mary Connealy

Bailey Wilde is considered a great rancher and has been living disguised as a man. Gage Coulter who has been in the previous 2 books of this serious as well is still tyring to officially homestead his land, when other homesteaders came in and homesteaded before he had a chance.  Therefore Gage and Bailey are at odds over land. Gage is an honest man who won't break the law, but he usually gets what he wants and he wants his land.

Enter the woman, the man and the dispute. Now Mary Connealy writes an endearing book of love and tough times living in the west.
I loved this book. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 books in this series and was not disappointed by this third book. If you are looking for a quick fast read, this series is highly recommended.
I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
