A Love Like Ours by Becky Wade (A Porter Family Novel)

Thanks to Bethany Publishers I have now received my third Porter Family book. I've thoroughly enjoyed this series. Ms. Wade's books are well written, witty and romantic. This book was no different. The story follows Jake Porter and his childhood friend, Lyndie. Lyndie moved away as a child and now she's back with one goal in mind to become the horse trainer for Jake's horses. However, since Lyndie moved Jake's grown up and endured a war that had left him with post traumatic stress disorder. All this makes for an endearing, yet plausible real life story.  I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

Drawing Fire by Janice Cantore (Cold Case Justice Book 1)

This was a fast, capturing read! Highly recommended!  I even went to Amazon to try and pre-order the next book! Several older women are being killed. Abby, the main investigator gets a lead through Luke who is a private investigator. In the midst of trying to unravel who is killing the elderly women of Long Beach, another case, a cold one is revealed. Although the cold case involves Abby and perhaps Luke as he is invested in finding answers about this particular cold case too! Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for review.

Stealing Jake by Pam Hillman

This was a different type of historical fiction and not your usual read. Set in the late 1800's the story begins with 2 boys pick pocketing. A young woman noticing this tries to protect the boys from their victim and this Livy and Jake begin a dance of romance. Without giving too much away the boys pick pocketing earlier in the pick reveal how orphans are being targeted to work in sweatshops and the issue of child labor. Meanwhile Lucy must come clean to Jake about her past knowing he's the sheriff. Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for review.
